Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara National Reserve, often simply referred to as the Maasai Mara or Mara, is one of Kenya's most famous and iconic wildlife destinations. It is situated in the southwestern part of the country, along the border with Tanzania, and is renowned for its spectacular landscapes, abundant wildlife, and the annual Great Migration.

he Maasai Mara covers an expansive area of approximately 1,510 square kilometers (580 square miles). It is an extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania and is characterised by its sweeping savannahs, open grasslands, rolling hills, and patches of acacia woodlands. The reserve's diverse terrain provides a variety of habitats for wildlife.
